Hangs

We told you to the save the weekend and we meant it.
Don’t leave Austin without checking out some of our favorite parts of town!

Barton springs

Don’t forget your swim suit/trunks because it doesn’t get much more Austin than Barton Springs! A beautiful spring-fed pool in the middle of Zilker Park that remains a brisk 68 F/20 C degrees year round. Bring a blanket to lay out for the afternoon and enjoy. Pro tip: Park at the back entrance off of Azie Morton Rd and tell them you are a local to save $5 at entry.

Parking is available, especially at the back entrance.

Deep Eddy Pool

A great second option if Barton Springs is too busy. Located in the same area, its the oldest public pool in Texas and is filled with beautiful spring-fed water. Deep Eddy Cabaret and Pool Burger are both around the corner and provide some great food/drink options nearby.

Parking can get a little tight, so we suggest going early.

Austin Library

The dopest place to hang in all of downtown Austin. It’s a beautiful, brand new energy-efficient building located right on Lake Austin. Grab a book and a coffee then sit out on one of the many outdoor patios to enjoy the breeze. It also has a stellar view from the rooftop butterfly garden. The tunnel underneath spits you out on the downtown hike and bike trail.

Parking is free for the first 30 minutes, otherwise it’s $5. We recommend looking for street parking.

Central Market

Yes we really put a grocery store as one of our "Things to Do." If you're staying the weekend, you may want to pick up some staples and this store has a wonderful selection. But, it also has live music and dancing! It has been a hit with Alex's parents.

Ample parking available.

Green Belt

Park at one of the many entry points and enjoy a hike, jog, or swim along Barton Creek. If you plan for it you can hike the entire 10 mile trail and end up at Barton Springs. Such a pretty trail that you’ll forget that you are in downtown Austin!

Parking varies at different entrances.
