Better Half

We both agree they have one of the best salads in town! Go before the brunch rush or in the afternoon for their happy hour. When you’re done, enjoy a flight at the Hold Out Brewery right next to it.

Fresa’s Chicken on South 1st

So good we put it twice! Sit under the shade of grand oak trees and well-spaced tables. We share half of an achiote & citrus chicken, add an order of Mexican street corn, and be sure to save room for churros!

Cosmic coffee

Now that we’ve moved to South Austin, Cosmic Coffee has been clutch! Don’t let the name fool you: they offer a wide variety of drinks and have multiple food trucks. The selling point is the huge yard with lots of outdoor seating.

Parking is available but fills up quickly.

Radio Coffee & Beer

Radio Coffee and Beer is another South Austin gem with plenty of outdoor seating. Grab a brew and order tacos from Veracruz (featured in our Tacos page) on the premises. Hopefully you can catch some live music while you’re there!
