taco guide

Alex used to run an Instagram account to review tacos. Needless to say, he has opinions. This ain’t your Taco Bell or Chipotle, so don’t leave without eating a taco!

VeracruZ all natural

They have several locations around town but all are of excellent quality.

Alex’s order: a Migas taco and fish taco and wash it down with a lime or watermelon agua fresca.

Sheila’s order: Cochinita Pibil and a hibiscus agua fresca.

TAqueria Mi Tralita

Don’t be deceived by the looks- this gas-station taco trailer is one of the finest in Austin. They make the tortillas fresh to order; great for breakfast or lunch.

Our orders change depending on what we’re feeling that day, but the 2-item breakfast tacos are a great deal!

Habanero Cafe

Hole in the wall Mexican joint is always on point. It’s cheap, cash-only and fills up fast on the weekends. You may just find yourself ordering a second round of tacos after you taste how good they are.

Alex’s order: a Migas with cheese, potato egg and sour cream, and lengua ranchero taco.

Sheila’s order: Verde enchiladas with chicken or the carne guisada plate.
